Meet The Teachers
Rod McCracken
Rod McCracken came to Thomas Lloyd Guitars in 2014, when the studio was situated at Monsalvat. After building his first guitar that year, Rod has been building beautiful acoustic guitars ever since.
With a back ground as a secondary school teacher, Rod will take you step by step through the process of building your very own, completey unique acoustic guitar, no matter what skill level you have.
As well as taking the time to teach you to build a guitar that you will be proud of, Rod will ensure you truely enjoy the entire Guitar Room experience.
Brad Butler
Brad came to The Guitar Room in 2023 to take the acoustic guitar course and soon established himself as a highly skilled builder. Over the three year prior Brad had been building high quality beautiful electric guitars out of his home studio.
In 2022 the quality of Brad's work was recognised by winning first place in the Carbitool Made competition. Not to be outdone in 2023 Brad's MK iv was shorlisted for the Wood Review Maker of the Year.
In 2024 Brad joined The Guitar Room after 8 years of military service in the Engineering Corps to share his expertise in electric guitar building, repair and maintenance. With an unparalleled passion for his craft Brad will breathe life into your passion for electric guitar helping you to build an instrument you will want to play over and over again.
